CANBERRA -- Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said on Friday that the government's position on net zero emissions would be outlined before he attends the United Nations UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.

Morrison confirmed that he will travel to the conference, also known as COP26, which begins on Oct. 31 and runs until Nov. 12 in Britain. (Australia-Climate Change)

KHARTOUM -- The inflation rate in Sudan continued to drop for the second month in a row, registering 365.82 percent in September compared with 387.56 percent in August, Sudan's Central Bureau of Statistics said in a press release on Thursday.

The bureau attributed the drop in inflation to the decline in the annual rate of change in food prices in September, as well as the drop in the inflation rate of the imported consumer goods. (Sudan-Inflation-Drop)

NEW YORK -- Oil prices advanced on Thursday as traders bet on higher demand for energy.

The West Texas Intermediate for November delivery added 87 cents to settle at 81.31 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for December delivery increased 82 cents to close at 84 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange. (US-Oil Price-Up)

NEW YORK -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Thursday as risk appetite improved, subduing demand for the safe-haven currency.
