LONDON, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.45 percent, or 32.80 points, to close at 7,190.30 points.
Halma, a group of technology companies that makes products for hazard detection and life protection, soared 2.00 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Reckitt Benckiser Group and Legal & General Group increased by 1.99 percent and 1.86 percent, respectively.
Rio Tinto, a mining and metals company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 4.84 percent. BHP Group, a global resources company, dropped 3.72 percent. Barratt Developments, one of the largest residential property, fell 3.07 percent. Enditem
