German shares close higher Friday

FRANKFURT, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index up 70.42 points, or 0.46 percent, to close at 15,542.98 points.

Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.24 percent. Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies and automotive manufacturer BMW rose by 1.81 percent and 1.72 percent respectively.

European multinational online food-delivery service Delivery Hero lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 3.70 percent. Multinational E-commerce company Zalando and European multinational aerospace corporation Airbus went down by 1.48 percent and 1.47 percent respectively.

Multinational software corporation SAP was the most-traded share with a turnover of 250.60 million euros (291.45 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, rose 3.15 percent to close at 1.635 euros per share on Friday. Enditem
