ISLAMABAD -- Six terrorists were killed in a shootout with security forces in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province on Saturday, local media reported.

TASHKENT -- Uzbekistan is to hold the next presidential election on Sunday, with incumbent President Shavkat Mirziyoyev running for a second term in office, the Uzbek Central Election Commission (CEC) said Saturday.

RIYADH -- The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen announced on Saturday that it destroyed four Houthi vessels in the Red Sea and a site for bomb-laden boats in the Yemeni city of Hodeidah.

MOGADISHU -- Somali National Army (SNA) and Galmudug regional forces retook Guriel town in central Somalia from a paramilitary group Saturday following a fierce gunfight, army officials said.

SNA officers told Radio Mogadishu that the allied forces have concluded the security operations in the town after flushing out Ahlu Sunna Waljama'a (ASWJ), a moderate Islamic group based in the central region, which had occupied the town for barely a month. (Somalia-Security) Enditem
