WELLINGTON -- New Zealand's Minister of State for Trade and Export Growth Phil Twyford announced Wednesday that New Zealand has ratified the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement.

Signed in November last year, the RCEP is a mega trade deal between 10 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member states, namely Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, plus China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. CANBERRA -- Australia on Wednesday announced that it has ratified the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement, which will take effect next year as the world's largest free trade agreement (FTA).

ISLAMABAD -- Fifteen people were killed and 10 others seriously injured when a passenger van fell into a ravine in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir on Wednesday, police said.

The van carrying 25 people fell into a deep ravine when the driver tried to negotiate a sharp turn in the mountainous terrain of Kotli district in the region, Rizwan Younus, a policeman in the district who was dispatched to the accident site, told Xinhua. (Pakistan-Road Accident)

JAKARTA -- At least 18 people were missing after a canoe carrying dozens of people capsized on Bengawan Solo River in Indonesia's East Java province on Wednesday, a senior disaster agency official said.
