FREETOWN -- Over 100 people have been killed in a fuel tanker explosion in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone, police said Saturday.

ALGIERS -- Italian President Sergio Mattarella kicked off on Saturday a two-day visit to Algeria at the invitation of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aiming to boost bilateral cooperation, notably in the economic field.

MOGADISHU -- The Somali National Army's (SNA) 60 Unit killed two al-Shabab militants and recovered weapons after conducting a special operation at a village in Lower Shabelle region, southern Somalia, officials said Saturday.

SNA said in a brief statement that the army conducted the sting operation on Friday night at Gorsarow near Bulamarer town where the troops killed two al-Shabab terrorists who were found planting landmines along the road. (Somalia-Militants) Enditem
