WELLINGTON -- Business leaders from the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) affirmed Wednesday that a collective approach putting people at the heart of the Asia-Pacific agenda is needed to overcome current challenges.

NEW YORK -- Former U.S. Secretary of State and seasoned diplomat Henry Kissinger on Tuesday called on the United States and China to seek a way to coexist and cooperate with each other.
"It is essential for China and the United States to overcome their difficulties," Kissinger said in a video speech delivered at the annual gala dinner of the New York City-based U.S. National Committee on U.S.-China Relations (NCUSCR).
He noted that "it is even more important for China and the United States to find some common projects on which they can cooperate." (U.S.-China-Kissinger)

NEW DELHI -- At least six people were killed and many others injured Wednesday after a bus and a truck collided with each other in the western Indian state of Rajasthan, police said.
Following the collision the bus caught fire.
The accident took place on a highway in Barmer district, about 535 km west of Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan. (India-Road accident-Toll)

UNITED NATIONS -- The number of children with disabilities globally is estimated at nearly 240 million, according to a UNICEF report released on Tuesday.
The new estimate for the number of children with disabilities is higher than previous estimates, and is based on a more meaningful and inclusive understanding of disabilities, which considers difficulties across several domains of functioning, as well as symptoms of anxiety and depression, said UNICEF.
