KUWAIT CITY, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah accepted on Sunday the resignation of the country's government, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) said.

The emir instructed the government to act as a caretaker until a new cabinet is formed, the KUNA said. (Kuwait-Government-Resignation)

JERUSALEM -- Israeli Air Force commander has visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is the first visit of a senior Israeli military official to the Gulf state, Israeli military said in a statement on Sunday.

Israeli Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Amikam Norkin attended the Dubai International Air Chiefs' Conference last week, a meeting for air force commanders from around the globe held in the UAE, said the military. (Israel-UAE-Military Cooperation)

TEHRAN -- A 6.4-magnitude earthquake followed by an almost as intense aftershock and more than 17 other tremors shook the south of Iran on Sunday, killing at least one person and injuring at least 47 others, according to official media.

The main shake happened near the small inland town of Fin at 3:37 p.m. local time (1207 GMT), the Iranian Seismological Center (ISC) wrote on its continuous monitoring report. (Iran-Earthquakes-Casualties)

RAMALLAH -- The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) may not be able to pay the salaries of its employees in the coming months, a spokesman for the UN agency warned Sunday.

"The lack of sufficient funds and the absence of a continuous flow of grants will affect the agency's ability to pay the salaries of its employees on time during the next two months," Sami Mshasha, spokesman of UNRWA, told the official Voice of Palestine radio.
