DAKAR, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Dakar on Friday evening for a visit until Saturday.

Blinken was greeted at Blaise Diagne International Airport by Senegalese Foreign Minister Aissata Tall Sall.

He will meet on Saturday with Senegalese President Macky Sall and his foreign minister.

According to the Senegalese Foreign Ministry, Blinken will hold talks with the Senegalese authorities to "deepen the strong partnership between the United States and Senegal." He will attend a meeting with the private sector in Senegal, where a contract signing ceremony is planned. He will then host a joint press conference with the Senegalese foreign minister.

Blinken will leave Dakar on Saturday. In 2020, his predecessor Mike Pompeo also visited Senegal while touring the African continent. Enditem
