Vietnam reports 10,321 new COVID-19 cases

HANOI, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam reported 10,321 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, including 10,299 locally transmitted and 22 imported, according to its Ministry of Health.

Most of the community cases were detected in southern localities, including 1,547 in Ho Chi Minh City, 688 in Binh Duong province, and 564 in Tay Ninh province.

The infections brought the total tally to 1,104,835 with 23,951 deaths, said the ministry. Nationwide, as many as 910,276 COVID-19 patients have so far recovered, up 4,776 from Sunday.

Nearly 109 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, including some 42 million second doses, have been administered, according to the ministry.

As of Monday, the country has registered nearly 1.1 million locally transmitted COVID-19 cases since the start of the current wave in late April, the ministry said. Enditem
