YAOUNDE, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- The third wave of COVID-19 pandemic is steadily declining and under control in Cameroon, the country's minister of Public Health Manaouda Malachie said on Thursday.
Malachie told reporters after a cabinet meeting in the capital, Yaounde, that the third wave is under control in the central African nation following the significant drop in cases of contamination.
"We have an epidemiological situation which is very good. We have an improvement of our wave indicators," Malachie said.
Despite this decline, Malachie said, all measures will be taken to avoid a fourth wave especially as the country is set to host the Africa Cup of Nations early next year.
"We have to be more vigilant because around us the spread is picking up. We have to be careful and vaccinate ourselves," the minister stressed. Enditem
