CAIRO -- Egypt's Court of Cassation, the country's top appeals court, on Thursday upheld a previous court ruling that sentenced 21 "terrorists" to death over charges of killing policemen, official news agency MENA reported.

They were convicted of killing 42 security men, 15 civilians and wounding more than 340 others in 54 terrorist attacks. (Egypt-Killing Policemen-Death Sentence)

TEHRAN -- The spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said that the Islamic republic will continue cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to tackle the remaining questions related to the country's nuclear program, semi-official Mehr news agency reported on Thursday.

The AEOI spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi reacted to remarks of IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, who said on Wednesday after his Tehran trip that he failed to reach an agreement with Iran over outstanding issues, including renewed access to an Iranian nuclear site. (Iran-IAEA-Nuke Programs)

KHARTOUM -- At least 43 people were killed and 46 villages were burned and looted in Sudan's West Darfur State, United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Sudan (OCHA) said on Thursday.

"On Nov. 17, conflict broke out between Arab nomads and farmers from the Misseriya Jebel tribe in West Darfur's Jebel Moon locality," OCHA said in a statement. (Sudan-Darfur-Looting)

JERUSALEM -- Israel announced on Thursday a ban on entry of travelers from seven African countries, after a new COVID-19 variant was detected in South Africa.

Amid reports of the heavily mutated variant known as B.1.1529, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Health Minister Nitzan Horwitz decided to list South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia and Eswatini as "red countries," the prime minister's office said in a statement.
