Vietnam posts trade surplus of 225 mln USD in 11 months

HANOI, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam recorded an estimated trade value of 599.12 billion U.S. dollars in the first 11 months of this year, up 22.3 percent year on year, with a trade surplus of 225 million U.S. dollars, the General Statistics Office said on Monday.

Specifically, the export revenue stood at 299.67 billion U.S. dollars, up 17.5 percent year-on-year, while the import revenue totaled 299.45 billion U.S. dollars, surging 27.5 percent.

The United States remained Vietnam's biggest importer with turnovers of 84.8 billion U.S. dollars, followed by China with 50.5 billion U.S. dollars and the European Union with 35.7 billion U.S. dollars, said the office.

China is Vietnam's largest exporter with 98.5 billion U.S. dollars of turnovers, followed by South Korea with 50.3 billion U.S. dollars and the ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) with 37 billion U.S. dollars, according to the office. Enditem
