MOGADISHU, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Somali security forces are on Monday interrogating three al-Shabab terrorists after arresting them during a sting operation conducted on the outskirts of Mogadishu on Sunday night.
The security officials told Radio Mogadishu that a storage cave for improvised explosive devices which al-Shabab militants have been using to carry out attacks was discovered during the operation in Heliwa district in the restive city.
"The security forces have found last night explosive materials storage cave belonging to al-Shabab and arrested three terrorists in a planned operation in Mogadishu's Heliwa district," the state-owned radio reported.
The latest arrest comes as government forces have intensified operations against al-Shabab in the central and southern regions.
The security forces have also enhanced security to thwart any terror incidents across the country to ensure the ongoing parliamentary elections are peaceful. Enditem
