DAMASCUS -- Explosions were heard Sunday inside a U.S. military base in the al-Tanf area in southeastern Syria, state news agency SANA reported.

JAKARTA -- At least 13 people died and 98 others were injured after Mount Semeru in Indonesia's East Java erupted, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) said on Sunday.

PHNOM PENH -- The body of Cambodian Prince Norodom Ranariddh arrived in Cambodia from France on Sunday for a traditional funeral, a spokesman said.

KABUL -- A gang leader of multiple high-profile crimes and theft was killed and eight armed robbers were arrested in two Afghan provinces, multiple source confirmed on Sunday.

In eastern Nangarhar province, the Special Forcers of General Directorate for Intelligence (GDI) conducted an operation against a theft and kidnapping gang on Saturday, the country's national intelligence agency said in a statement. (Afghanistan-Gang-Crime) Enditem
