RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Flamengo have held talks with Argentine manager Eduardo Berizzo as they look to replace Renato Gaucho as their head coach, according to media reports in Brazil.
Berizzo, 52, has been without a club since being sacked as Paraguay's manager in October.
Other candidates to take charge of the Rio de Janeiro club include Benfica boss Jorge Jesus, who led Flamengo to the 2019 Copa Libertadores-Brazilian Serie A double, and Braga manager Carlos Carvalhal, Globo Esporte said on Wednesday.
Flamengo have been searching for a head coach since parting ways with Renato on November 29.
Youth academy coach Mauricio Souza is currently occupying the role on an interim basis. Enditem
