ZAGREB, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- The third Huawei "Seeds for the Future" program held its closing ceremony in the Student Center of Zagreb University on Tuesday.

Bernard Grsic, State Secretary at the Central State Office for Digital Society Development, said at the ceremony that the "Seeds for the Future" program, launched by the Chinese company Huawei, now covers more than 100 countries in the world. The eight Croatian students selected from top Croatian universities to participate in the program have now become part of the global initiative.

The program provides the opportunity for the students to learn about the latest communication technology.

Pero Radic, one of the eight students who attended the week-long program, said in remarks at the ceremony that he signed up to expand his knowledge and horizons, and had appreciated the opportunity to learn about the latest communication technology, and Chinese culture.

A total of 36 Croatian students have taken part in the program since 2019.

In recent years, China-Croatia digital economic cooperation has continued to develop, said Chinese Ambassador Qi Qianjin, who addressed the ceremony via video link. He added that in the future, the two sides should strengthen exchanges and explore more opportunities for such cooperation.

Grsic and Zhang Qiming, CEO of Huawei Technologies Croatia, awarded certificates to the Croatian university students selected for the program from Dec. 6-13. The students learned about Huawei's business, and advanced technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence and cloud computing. Enditem
