Brunei logs 17 new COVID-19 cases, 15,491 in total

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) -- Brunei reported 17 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the total tally to 15,491.

According to Brunei's Ministry of Health, the newly recorded cases included 13 local infections and four imported cases.

As of Dec. 31, 2021, 94.5 percent of Brunei's population had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 93.3 percent had taken two shots and 21.4 percent had received the booster dose.

There are 111 active cases being treated and monitored in the Southeast Asian country. The overall coronavirus death toll stands at 100 currently. Enditem
