MOSCOW -- A bus crashed into a railway bridge abutment in Russia's Ryazan region on Sunday, killing five of those on board.

SANAA -- The Saudi-led Arab coalition launched airstrikes on a military camp controlled by the Houthi militia in Yemen's capital Sanaa on Sunday morning, the Houthi-controlled Saba news agency reported.

KABUL -- Thousands of Afghans took streets in national capital of Kabul Sunday to protest against freeze of the country's assets by the United States, calling the release of Afghans assets.

The Afghan economy, since the Taliban's takeover in last August, has suffered from the freeze of over 9 billion U.S. dollars in assets belonging to the Afghan central bank by the United States as well as a halt in funds by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). KAMPALA -- Three family members were killed and six others injured in a New Year road accident in the central Uganda district of Buikwe, police said.

Uganda Traffic Police spokesperson Faridah Nampiima said in a statement issued here on Sunday that the Saturday accident happened after the car the family was travelling in crashed into a truck. (Uganda-Road Accident)

KHARTOUM -- Mass demonstrations demanding civilian rule started on Sunday in the Sudan's capital Khartoum and other cities.
