LONDON, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.47 percent, or 34.91 points, to close at 7,485.28 points.
Anglo American, a globally diversified mining business, soared 2.94 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. BHP Group and Prudential increased by 2.69 percent and 2.68 percent, respectively.
Diageo, a British multinational alcoholic beverages company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.61 percent.
