HONG KONG -- The current anti-epidemic measures will be extended for 14 more days until Feb. 3, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government announced on Friday.

TOKYO -- Japan's number of daily COVID-19 cases stood at 22,045 on Friday, surpassing 20,000 for the first time since Sept. 1, according to data compiled from reports by prefectural governments.

JAKARTA -- A 6.6-magnitude earthquake jolted off the Banten province of Indonesia on Friday with strong tremors felt in the capital Jakarta, the country's meteorology, climatology and geophysics agency said.

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday launched the public version of the country's first-ever National Security Policy document and called it an "all-encompassing" framework for inclusive development in the country.
