China becomes Georgia's largest export destination

TBILISI, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Georgia exported a record value of 615 million U.S. dollars of goods to China in 2021, making China its largest export market, according to the country's state statistics office.

In the year, Georgia's exports to China amounted to 615 million U.S. dollars, 28.9 percent more than the previous year, said the office in its latest report.

Exports to China accounted for 14.5 percent of total exports of Georgia in the year of 2021, making China the biggest export destination for the country.

Neighbouring Russia and Azerbaijan followed with 610 million U.S. dollars and 531 million U.S. dollars, respectively, in Georgia's export value of 2021.

In 2021, Georgia's foreign trade volume amounted to 14.3 billion U.S. dollars, 25.6 percent higher to 2020. Exports equaled 4.2 billion U.S. dollars, while imports stood at 10.07 billion U.S. dollars. Enditem
