AMMAN -- Jordan's Minister of Health Firas Hawari on Sunday announced that he was tested positive for COVID-19.

Saying his health condition is stable, Hawari noted he has committed to home quarantine procedures and protocols subject to the infected people, the state-run Petra news agency reported. (Jordan-Health Minister-COVID19)

JERUSALEM -- Israel's cabinet decided on Sunday to launch a state investigation into the procurement of submarines and other vessels from Germany amid corruption allegations involving confidants of former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to a government spokesperson in a statement, the cabinet approved establishing a state commission of inquiry that will investigate the case by vote. Prime Minister Naftali Bennett abstained, 26 ministers voted in favor, and one minister voted against. (Israel-German-Investigation)

TEHRAN -- Iran has regained its right to vote at the UN General Assembly after its membership dues to the organization were paid by South Korea with frozen Iranian funds, Iran's ambassador to the United Nations announced.

BEIRUT -- Visiting Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nasser al-Mohammad al-Sabah said here on Sunday that his country has made suggestions to Lebanese President Michel Aoun on how Lebanon might rebuild confidence with the Gulf states.
