ANKARA -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan tested negative for COVID-19 after being infected with the virus last week, semi-official Anadolu Agency reported on Thursday.

"President Erdogan's PCR tests that we have done over the past two days have come back negative," his doctor Serkan Topaloglu was quoted as saying by the agency. (Turkey-President-COVID19)

TRIPOLI -- The Libyan House of Representatives, or the parliament, on Thursday unanimously voted for Fathi Bashagha as country's new prime minister.

Bashagha was the interior minister of the former UN-backed Government of National Accord before the current Government of National Unity was approved in early 2021. (Libya-PM-Vote)

TRIPOLI -- Unidentified gunmen on Thursday attacked the convoy of Libyan Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah in the capital Tripoli, said Libya's Interior Ministry.

"Earlier today, the convoy of the prime minister was subjected to an armed attack in Souk al-Juma district (central Tripoli) by individuals in a vehicle with no license plates," Abdulmenem al-Arabi, the ministry's spokesman, said in a statement. (Libya-PM-Attack)

SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi militia on Thursday claimed responsibility for a bomb-laden drone attack on Abha airport in Saudi Arabia.
