LAGOS, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Nigeria's anti-drug police have busted a currency forgery case and seized counterfeit money with a face value of 4.7 million U.S. dollars, according to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Sunday.

One suspect was arrested in connection with the seizure on Friday in Abuja, Nigeria's capital, said Femi Babafemi, the spokesperson for the agency.

He said the seizure followed intelligence received by the agency detailing the movement of the cash, noting that the operatives had, in the early hours of Friday, intercepted a consignment sent from Lagos, Nigeria's economic hub, to its capital Abuja.

He said the NDLEA has directed that both the cash and the suspect in NDLEA custody be transferred to an anti-graft agency for further investigation. Enditem
