LAGOS, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Twelve people were killed and 12 others injured in a collision between a car and a bus in Nigeria's northeastern state of Yobe, local authorities said Monday.
The car driver's speeding and reckless driving caused the head-on collision Sunday afternoon near Potiskum, a town in Yobe state, Rotimi Adeleye, a zonal commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Yobe, told reporters in Damaturu, the state capital.
Adeleye urged drivers to observe speed limits, saying most of road accidents in the country are speed-related.
Deadly road accidents are frequently reported in Nigeria, some also blamed on bad roads and reckless driving. Enditem
