YANGON -- Seven people were killed in a road accident Saturday on Pathein-Chaungtha road in Ayeyarwady region, according to the local police.

NEW DELHI -- Indian authorities Saturday deployed teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in Andaman and Nicobar Islands in anticipation of Cyclone Asani.

DHAKA -- A vessel carrying cement clinkers sank off Bangladesh's premier seaport in Chattogram, some 242 km southeast of capital Dhaka, early on Saturday, leaving five crew members missing.

KABUL, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Four children have been killed by an unexploded ordnance blast in Afghanistan's southern province of Kandahar, the country's Ministry of Interior said on Saturday.
