YAOUNDE, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) confirmed on Tuesday that its national football team goalkeeper Andre Onana has been involved in a car crash.
Onana has suffered no injuries in the tragedy which occurred early Tuesday along the Douala-Yaounde highway, Fecafoot said.
The 25-year-old, also Ajax keeper, left the capital, Yaounde, and was heading to the commercial hub of Douala to join teammates who are training for the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff game against Algeria when his car hit another and the entire face of the car was smashed.
His brother who was driving the car was hurt and rushed to the hospital.
Onana is expected to train with teammates on Tuesday as they prepare to host Algeria at the Japoma Stadium on Friday before traveling to Mustapha Tchaker Stadium for the return fixture on March 29. Enditem
