ANKARA, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Turkish police on Thursday detained seven Syrian Islamic State (IS) suspects in southern Adana province.

After examining the digital documents seized in previous operations, including the IS propaganda photographs and videos, the police determined that seven suspects were residing in Adana, the local DHA news agency reported.

The anti-terror teams launched raids to detain the foreign nationals that allegedly operated on behalf of the group.

The Turkish government designated the IS a terrorist organization in 2013, blaming the group for a spate of deadly attacks in Turkey since 2015.

In a separate operation on Tuesday, Turkish security forces detained four Syrian IS suspects in the central Kayseri province over information that they had carried out armed activities in Syria and Iraq in the ranks of the group. Enditem
