ISLAMABAD -- Pakistani President Arif Alvi dissolved Sunday the National Assembly at the request of the country's prime minister, said a statement from the president's secretariat.

ISLAMABAD -- Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan rejected here on Sunday a no-confidence motion filed by an opposition alliance against Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan over alleged involvement of foreign hands in the move aimed at ousting the incumbent government.

Deputy speaker of the lower house of parliament Qasim Khan Suri rejected the no-confidence motion, saying that foreign involvement was found in the opposition's move aiming to oust the incumbent government, which is against the Constitution of Pakistan. (Pakistan-No-Confidence Motion-Rejection)

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN -- Muslims in Brunei observed the first day of the fasting month of Ramadan on Sunday as the country has recorded less than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases for 11 consecutive days.

The daily period of fasting starts at the breaking of dawn and ends at the setting of the sun.
