DAMASCUS, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Syrian reinforcements arrived Friday in desert regions in the central and northern parts of the country, preparing to launch a new campaign against remnants of the Islamic State (IS) group, a war monitor reported.

In March, 13 Syrian soldiers were killed by an IS ambush in the desert of Homs. Enditem
