Olympic medalist Zhang Nan, Zhang Yiman suffer early exits from 2022 Korea Masters

SEOUL, April 12 (Xinhua) -- Olympic medalist Zhang Nan and his compatriot Zhang Yiman lost in men's doubles and women's singles respectively on Tuesday in the first round of the 2022 Korea Masters.

Men's doubles and mixed doubles Olympic champion Zhang Nan who partnered with world champion Liu Cheng lost to South Korean duo Kim Jae-hyeon/Lee Yong-dae 18-21, 21-15, 21-11.

Elsewhere in men's doubles, World Championships winner Tan Qiang and his partner Ren Xiangyu swept South Korean pair Kim Hwi-tae and Yoon Dae Il 21-17, 21-12. He Jiting/Zhou Haodong overwhelmed Thai pair Pongsakorn Thongkham/Thanawath Udomsipronkul 21-10, 21-18.

In women's singles, Zhang Yiman was edged out by the United States' Lauren Lam 21-19, 21-17. Olympic champion Chen Yufei smashed Singapore's Yue Yann Jaslyn Hooi 21-17, 21-10. Wang Zhiyi beat Sim Yu-jin of South Korea 21-18,21-16.

In men's singles, Li Shifeng won against South Korean Jung Min-seon 21-14, 20-22, 21-10.

In mixed doubles, Olympic medalist Zheng Siwei and his partner Zhang Shuxian outclassed South Korean pair Park Kyung-hoon and Kim Yu-jung 21-6, 21-15. Olympic champions Wang Yilyu and Huang Dongping outperformed their teammates Guo Xinwa and Liu Xuanxuan 21-17, 19-21, 21-10.

In women's doubles, China's Zhang Shuxian/Zheng Yu took an easy win over Bang Ji-sun/ Kim Min-sol of South Korea 21-13, 21-14. Enditem
