BUENOS AIRES, April 24 (Xinhua) -- A second-half goal from Ramiro Ruiz handed Atletico Tucuman a 1-1 draw at River Plate in Argentina's Primera Division on Sunday.

Enzo Fernandez gave the hosts the lead from the penalty spot after Matias Suarez was brought down by Manuel Capasso on the stroke of halftime.

Ruiz equalized just before the hour mark, bundling home from close range after a Ciro Rius strike was parried into his path by goalkeeper Franco Armani.

The result at the Monumental stadium left River second in Group A with 23 points from 12 matches, five points behind leaders Racing Club. Atletico Tucuman remain last in the 14-team group with seven points.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Lanus drew 1-1 at Godoy Cruz, Defensa y Justicia were held to a 1-1 home draw by Platense and Newell's Old Boys drew 0-0 at Racing Club. Enditem
