TEHRAN, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced Friday that it has smashed a "counter-revolutionary terrorist group" in the northwestern province of Kurdistan, according to the semi-official Fars news agency.

All the members of the group were identified and arrested, Fars reported by citing an IRGC statement.

It said the group's members, who were led from abroad, planned to overshadow the International Quds Day on Friday.

The statement added that the group, affiliated with the "Komala terror outfit," has a history of "terrorist acts and assassination of citizens," including "inciting rallies, seeking to provoke clashes and riots, documenting protests, spreading fake news, and insulting religious sanctities."
