BULAWAYO, Zimbabwe, May 1 (Xinhua) -- The annual Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) concluded here on Saturday.

The three-day event held in Zimbabwe's second largest city, themed "Rethink, Reimagine, Reinvent Value Chains for Economic Development," attracted more than 500 exhibitors from home and abroad, including many from China.

During this year's ZITF, Zhu Wei, leader of the Chinese medical team in Zimbabwe, showcased Chinese traditional medicines to local and international visitors.

"We are providing free acupuncture treatment to local people," Zhu, also chief of the Zimbabwe-China Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Center in Harare, told Xinhua.

Tafadzwa Nyabuta, marketing officer of Zimoco, a Zimbabwean distributor of Chinese car brands, said China-made cars were well accepted at the event because of "a very good value proposition at a very attractive price."

"The first time I saw this car, it literally blew my breath away. Everything about it is just wow," said Patience Sibanda, a visitor who showed interest in a car on display from Chinese brand Haval.

Amid an increasing economic engagement between Zimbabwe and China, more local exhibitors at this year's ZITF expressed confidence that the event will offer them an opportunity to further explore the Chinese market.

China has so far remained Zimbabwe's biggest foreign investor. In 2021, trade between the two countries hit nearly 1.9 billion U.S. dollars, up 35 percent from 2020, according to data from the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency. Enditem
