NEW DELHI -- India's COVID-19 tally rose to 43,094,938 on Friday, with 3,545 new cases registered during the past 24 hours across the country, showed the federal health ministry's latest data.

Of the new cases, 1,365 were reported from Delhi. Presently there are 5,756 active cases in the national capital. (India-COVID 19-Cases)

SEOUL -- South Korea reported 26,714 new COVID-19 cases as of midnight Thursday compared to 24 hours ago, raising the total number of infections to 17,464,782, the health authorities said Friday.

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand recorded 7,347 new community cases of COVID-19, the ministry of health said on Friday.

SYDNEY -- Australia's state of Tasmania has been experiencing extreme weather conditions, which has seen torrential rain and thunderstorms inundate parts of the island state.
