LOS ANGELES, May 11 (Xinhua) -- An Advanced Clean Transportation Expo is being held in Long Beach, Southern California, featuring clean transportation technologies such as autonomous driving, electric battery, fuel cell and renewable natural gas.

The four-day event, which runs from May 9 to 12 in the western U.S. state of California, has drawn global speakers from around the industry to discuss how vehicle and engine manufacturers are leading the charge ahead in reducing emissions and offering leading edge transport solutions.

The agenda of the expo highlights the growing availability of ultra-low and zero-emission vehicles and technologies, increased consumption of renewable low carbon fuels, and initiatives to rapidly expand clean fueling and charging infrastructure.

Hundreds of clean commercial vehicles and fueling products are on display in the expo hall at the Long Beach Convention Center.

Headquartered in Los Angeles with a manufacturing plant in Lancaster, California, electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has drawn lots of attention at the expo with its all-electric fleet, including transit buses, school buses, drayage trucks, yard tractors and delivery trucks.

Patrick Duan, senior vice president of operations of BYD North America, told Xinhua that as the world is entering a new stage of accelerating pace of new energy, BYD has seen more opportunities in this field, and hopes to strengthen its influence as a leader in new energy vehicles.

BYD will continue its technological innovation to maintain its leading position in electric vehicles, he said.

Multinational technology corporation ABB demonstrated five EV chargers in its booth. Katherine Rankin, a marketing communications specialist at ABB, told Xinhua the company aims to drive the future of zero-emission transportation for its customers and their communities around the world.

She said ABB hopes to reach out to more customers, distributors and partners through the expo.

Over 250 exhibitors and sponsors joined the expo, and over 75 advanced clean vehicles are on display at the show. Enditem
