RIO DE JANEIRO, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Arsenal is in advanced talks to sign highly rated Sao Paulo teenager Marquinhos Alencar, according to Brazilian media reports.
Marqunihos, who has more than two years left on his Sao Paulo contract, is expected to join the Premier League club in July after agreeing to personal terms, Globo Esporte said on Thursday.
The 19-year-old winger has made 41 first-team appearances since being promoted from Sao Paulo's youth ranks last year.
A right-sided player who can also be used as a second striker or attacking midfielder, Marquinhos has represented Brazil at both under-16 and under-17 level.
Arsenal currently has two Brazilians in its squad: forward Gabriel Martinelli and defender Gabriel Magalhaes. Enditem
