HANOI, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam will no longer require international travelers entering the country to take COVID-19 tests from May 15.

The move came as the numbers of COVID-19 cases, severe cases and deaths related to the coronavirus in the country have been decreasing since March 15 this year, according to an official document issued by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Friday.

Vietnam dropped the requirement for health declaration for international arrivals on April 27, after removing the requirement for COVID-19 vaccine certificates and quarantine on March 16 shortly after it reopened tourism for international visitors.

As of Friday, Vietnam has administered more than 216.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, and nearly 68.7 million people have been vaccinated with at least two doses. Enditem
