ANKARA, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Turkey's Foreign Ministry on Friday summoned the French embassy's undersecretary in the capital Ankara over an "attack" on Turkey's consulate general in Paris.

Turkish officials conveyed Turkey's discomfort over the attack, the semi-official Anadolu Agency reported.

Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Friday that the perpetrators of Thursday's "terrorist attack" must stand trial.

"We want to see concrete steps from France," he told reporters at a press conference in Istanbul.

The Anadolu Agency reported that unidentified individuals attacked the consulate building on Thursday night with firework-type explosives, which damaged a window and the wall of the consulate building.

Groups affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) claimed responsibility for the attack, the agency reported.

The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, has been rebelling against the Turkish government for more than three decades. Enditem
