TEHRAN, May 19 (Xinhua) -- A senior Iranian judiciary official said Thursday that the country has not given up on its efforts to bring to justice those involved in the assassination of former Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani.

Making the remarks in a ceremonial address, Iranian Judiciary's First Deputy Mohammad Mosaddegh said the "U.S. act of terror" against the Iranian commander reveals its "ugly" nature, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported.

Noting that two years have elapsed since Soleimani, the then commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, was killed by the so-called "human rights advocates," Mosaddegh said the "terrorist act" has no legal justification and is condemned by all law experts across the globe.

On Jan. 3, 2020, Soleimani was killed in a U.S. drone attack along with an Iraqi militia commander near Baghdad International Airport during an official visit.

Iran condemns the assassination of its top commander, ordered by former U.S. president, as an instance of state terrorism. Enditem
