ISLAMABAD -- A soldier was killed in an explosion near a military convoy in South Waziristan district of Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, an army statement said on Thursday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations, the media wing of the Pakistani army, said that security forces came under attack in the Makeen area of the district when an improvised explosive device exploded and killed the soldier. (Pakistan-Soldier-Death)

TUNIS -- Four migrants died and 10 others went missing after a boat carrying 58 migrants sank off Tunisia's eastern coast, the Tunis Afrique Presse reported Thursday.

UNITED NATIONS -- UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Thursday called for efforts to reintegrate the agricultural production of both Russia and Ukraine into world markets.

KIEV -- The British government will provide 1.3 billion pounds in military aid for Ukraine, the Ukrainian government-run Ukrinform news agency reported Thursday, citing British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
