YEREVAN, June 6 (Xinhua) -- A session of the Council of Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) kicked off Monday in Armenia's capital Yerevan, according to a report of the state-run Armenpress.
"The trilateral agreement of November 9, 2020 continues to play an important role in stabilizing the situation in the region. The successful completion of the demarcation and delimitation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan can undoubtedly make a great contribution to strengthening the security of the entire region," said Stanislav Zas, CSTO Secretary General, at the meeting of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
He called on member states of the organization to unite against the difficult conditions in the Eurasian region.
In his speech, Vyacheslav Volodin, chairman of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, said the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly contributes to the security and sovereignty of the states.
It is necessary to continue working to improve the CSTO peacekeeping potential, he added.
The session is attended by 128 delegates from the six CSTO member states: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. Enditem
