WASHINGTON -- U.S. personal consumption expenditures (PCE), the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation measure, rose 6.3 percent in May over the past year, the Commerce Department reported on Thursday.

MOSCOW -- The Russian armed forces completed their tasks and withdrew from the tiny Snake Island in the Black Sea south of Ukraine's important port city of Odessa on Thursday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced.

In a goodwill gesture, Russia has demonstrated to the international society that there is no obstacle for the United Nations to establish a humanitarian corridor to transport agricultural products from Ukraine, the ministry said in a statement. (Russia-Ukraine-Armed conflict)

TEHRAN -- The Iranian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that the Islamic Republic and the EU will remain in contact as always over the next phase of the talks to revive the 2015 nuclear deal as the two-day indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington ended in Doha.

"As the talks on the removal of the sanctions continued, intense negotiations were held through the mediation of (EU coordinator) Enrique Mora in Doha," Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani tweeted, adding that "Iran presented its views and proposals about the remaining issues and the other side voiced its concerns." JERUSALEM -- Israeli lawmakers unanimously voted to dissolve the parliament on Thursday, after Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's coalition government lost its majority in the parliament, triggering unprecedented fifth elections in less than four years.

The 120-member Knesset (parliament) voted 92-0 to dissolve and to hold the next elections on Nov. 1, a parliamentary spokesperson said in a statement. (Israel-Elections) Enditem
