TEHRAN, July 7 (Xinhua) -- A top Iranian military commander said Thursday that the plots and bids by Iran's enemies to stymie the country's progress and isolate it politically have ended in failure.
Making the remarks in an address to a national conference, Hossein Salami, the commander-in-chief of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), said the enemies led by the "terrorist and mafia regime of the United States" have waged a full-fledged global economic war against Iran, the official news agency IRNA reported.
He said this comes as Iran has foiled their plots thanks to its people's intelligence and cognizance and resorting to domestic capabilities in the face of the sanctions.
Salami pointed out that although the enemies are doing their best to deprive Iranians of their self-confidence, the country's youths have prevented them from emerging victorious through their active presence. Enditem
