RAMALLAH/GAZA, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Palestine warned Tuesday against the dangers of Jewish associations' calls to establish settlement outposts in the West Bank on Wednesday.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry warned in a press statement against the preparations made by private settlement associations, known as "Nahala," to implement its plans to build dozens of informal settlement outposts in the West Bank.

"The Israeli government is fully and directly responsible for implementing these plans and for providing immunity for the settlement groups against the Palestinians and their land," it said.

The ministry also called on the international community "to move quickly and pay attention to what these associations intend to implement on the ground in the West Bank," warning of the repercussions and risks "once these plans are implemented."

"The failure to implement the UN Resolution 2334 encourages Israel and its settlement associations to continue stealing more of the occupied Palestinian land and perpetuating the occupation," the statement added.

In Gaza, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said in a press statement that the announcement of "Nahala" associations to inaugurate outposts in the West Bank on Wednesday "is a blatant aggression" on the Palestinians' lands.

"The move is a product of the open U.S. support for Israel and its settlement policies," Hamas said.

Israel occupied the West Bank in 1967 and has built settlements on it, which is considered a violation of international law.

The issue of Israeli settlement is one of the most prominent files of disagreement between Israel and the Palestinians, and it was the main reason behind the halt of the U.S.-sponsored peace negotiations in 2014. Enditem
