JAKARTA -- The Indonesian government is speeding up the construction of the Herbal and Horticulture Technology Science Park (TSTH2) in North Sumatra province as the country's "super priority" tourism destination, a government official said Wednesday.

The TSTH2 is a joint project between the Indonesian authorities with China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Beijing Genomics Institute, in an effort to conserve and innovate herbal plants in the Southeast Asia's largest economy, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said. SEOUL -- South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and Gabonese President Ali Bongo Ondimba held talks in Seoul on Wednesday, according to the South Korean presidential office.

COLOMBO -- Acting President Ranil Wickremesinghe was elected as the new president of Sri Lanka in an election held in parliament on Wednesday.

Soon after winning the election, Wickremesinghe addressed the parliament, calling on all legislators including the opposition parliamentarians to unite and work together with him to lead Sri Lanka out of the current economic crisis.

SUVA -- The Fijian government has stepped up efforts to accelerate economy despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, said Fiji's Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama on Wednesday.
