ISLAMABAD -- The Pakistani rupee hit an all-time low against the U.S. dollar on Monday during the intraday trade in the interbank market, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

During the intraday trading, the rupee fell to as low as 232, but it closed at 229.88, losing 0.66 percent against the U.S. dollar, according to the figures released by the SBP, adding that the rupee closed at 228.37 on Friday last week. (Pakistan-Rupee-Fall)

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN -- Fourteen boxes of fireworks were seized last weekend by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) at a stall in the Tutong District.

HONG KONG -- Over 194,000 people in Hong Kong have taken the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccines, official data showed Monday.

Since the start of a mass inoculation program in February last year, about 6.76 million people, or 92.9 percent of the eligible population in Hong Kong, have taken at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccines, while over 6.5 million, or 89.4 percent of the eligible population, have taken two doses. COLOMBO -- Sri Lankan Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera on Monday said that gas stations in the country will only accept the national fuel pass or QR code system from Aug. 1.
