SAO PAULO, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Sao Paulo have reached a deal to turn their loan agreement with Argentine striker Jonathan Calleri into a permanent deal, the Brazilian Serie A club said on Monday.
The 28-year-old, whose 12-month loan from Uruguay's Deportivo Maldonado had been due to expire this week, signed a contract that runs until December 2025.
"Now I can say that I will be staying home until 2025," Calleri said in a video posted on the club's official website.
Calleri has scored 24 goals in 56 appearances across all competitions since joining Sao Paulo for a second time last August. He also had a successful six-month loan spell with the club in 2016.
The former Boca Juniors and West Ham United player places second among top scorers in Brazil's Serie A this season with 10 goals in 18 matches. Enditem
