MUMBAI -- Nine persons were reported dead and eight persons were critically injured after a fire broke out at a private hospital in India's Central state of Madhya Pradesh on Monday afternoon.

Around 150 persons were believed to be inside the three-storey hospital in Jabalpur, 1,094 km from Mumbai, but all the trapped people have been rescued, said Akhilesh Gaur, Chief Superintendent of Police of Jabalpur. (India-Hospital Fire-Casualties)

YANGON -- Three towns in the Southeast Asian country of Myanmar have experienced the hottest July days in nearly 70 years, according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology on Monday.

JAKARTA -- The Indonesian government has launched its own metaverse platform, named MetaNesia, as an effort to adapt to the fast-changing digital ecosystem, the country's State-owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir said Monday.

The virtual world, launched Sunday, is developed by state-owned telecommunications company PT Telkom Indonesia, and will be the place for Indonesia's small and medium enterprises to promote their goods on an equal footing with larger foreign businesses. (Indonesia-Metaverse)
